GENERAL, SECURED & FUELS CONSTRUCTION
DAWSON has proven experience in design-build and design-bid-build construction, with a specialty focus on general construction and renovation, secured facility construction, and fuels construction. We have demonstrated our capabilities through almost 30 years of successful project execution for various federal agencies across the Pacific. DAWSON’s Pacific Business Line has established contract vehicles, trusted client and subcontractor relationships, and in-house professionals who provide cost-effective and timely solutions to our federal and commercial clients.
OUR EXPERTISE
General Construction
DAWSON’s general construction expertise ranges from new ground-up construction to multi-trade renovation projects that span numerous specialty work trades, including: civil, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, concrete and masonry, wood and steel framing, drywall, roofing, finish carpentry and installation of pre-engineered systems.
SECURED Construction
DAWSON’s secured construction capabilities include cradle-to-grave design and construction solutions to provide a turnkey and useable secured space, compliant with the Intelligence Community Directive 705 physical and technical security standards, applicable to all sensitive compartmented information facilities. DAWSON holds a Facility Security Clearance with numerous cleared personnel on staff to ensure our client’s needs can be met in an expeditious manner.
FUELS Construction
DAWSON’s fuels construction team includes subject matter experts proficient in API inspection, tank and pipeline construction and repair, SSPC and NACE specialty coatings, and other fuels facility and infrastructure requirements necessary to provide operational capability, mission readiness, and environmental compliance.
Repair of 6th floor soffit, bldg 700
Location: USINDOPACOM HQ, Camp Smith, Honolulu, HI
Client: Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Hawaii
Scope: DAWSON provided emergency roof repairs at USINDOPACOM Headquarters after wind and water damage caused by hurricane-related storms. Work included emergency response and assessment, roof repair, structural assessment, scaffolding design, crane operations, fall protection safety, framing, flashing, and waterproofing; design and correction of roofing underlay design to mitigate future degradation.
Waiawa Transmission Main Emergency Repair
Location: Waiawa, Honolulu, HI
Client: Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Hawaii
Scope: DAWSON provided emergency response and repair of a 42-inch water main that provides 70% of the fresh water supplied to Pearl Harbor and Navy Properties. Work included excavation and dewatering, installing shoring, engineering and installing repair coupling, installing new piping and coupling, and backfill and compaction. Repair work was completed within a time-critical 7-day window. Crews worked safely and expeditiously around the clock in order to repair this critical infrastructure for our client.
SECURED RENOVATION AT CAMP SMITH
Location: Camp Smith, Honolulu, HI
Client: DARPA
Scope: DAWSON designed and renovated a secured Operations Center to meet time sensitive mission requirements that included an in-depth electrical power study and various scope trades: architectural, mechanical HVAC, electrical, plumbing, communications, electro security glass partitions, fire protection & alarm, raised access flooring, specialty security and intrusion detection systems, and systems furniture & technology to meet ICD 705 standards. DAWSON was able to complete this extremely time sensitive project through a true design-build process and emphasizing constant communication between all project stakeholders.
REPAIR FUEL STORAGE TANKS 1253 & 6479 MCBH
Location: Kaneohe Marine Corps Base, Honolulu, HI
Client: NAVFAC
Scope: In support of the Clean, Inspect and Repair of Aboveground Storage Tanks 1253 and 6479 at Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii, DAWSON performed A/E inspection and design development for the tank repair tasks, utilizing in-house API 653 inspectors and registered Professional Engineers with experience in tank design, fabrication, inspection and repair, to ensure that all API, NACE, UFGS, and UFC requirements were met. DAWSON worked closely with our Design and Inspection Teams, and NAVFAC Client to ensure all predictive repairs were validated and any additional post-inspection repairs were identified and communicated to the Govt. stakeholders in a timely manner. This project required various scope trades including engineered scaffolding systems, mechanical fabrication and welding, various NDE inspections, specialty interior and exterior coating systems by a SSPC certified QP-1 contractor, QP-5 coating inspection, and various containment liner and concrete repairs.
Maintenance & Repair Services for AC Equipment & DDC Systems
Location: JBPHH, MCBH, Honolulu, HI
Client: Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Hawaii
Scope: DAWSON provides preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance (PM/CM) on over 2000 pieces of equipment, consisting of chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, split AC units, and Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems across 128 buildings on various installations. Project sites include various headquarter buildings for the Pacific Air Force, U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, INDO-PACOM, the Pacific Fleet, as well as secured facilities requiring various levels of security clearance.
HALE KOA HOTEL HVAC/HVAC-R PREVENTIVE & CORRECTIVE MAINTENANCE
Location: Hale Koa Hotel, Honolulu, HI
Client: Siemens Government Technologies
Scope: DAWSON provides preventative and corrective maintenance (PM/CM) for the back of house HVAC & HVAC-R systems at the Hale Koa Hotel. The HVAC systems consist of Air handling units, Fan coil units, Exhaust/ Supply fans, Split AC units, Package units, Cooling towers and Chillers. The HVAC-R systems consist of both air and water-cooled walk-in reefers and freezers as well as ice machines. In addition to the HVAC/ HVAC-R services DAWSON provides domestic and closed loop water testing/ treatment, laundry system duct cleaning and restroom exhaust duct cleaning.
MISSION CONTROL FACILITY MAINTENANCE
Location: Fort Shafter, Honolulu, HI
Client: US Army Engineering & Support Center Huntsville
Scope: DAWSON provides preventative maintenance/corrective maintenance (PM/CM) over 500 equipment which consists of Kone Elevators, toilets, sinks, water fountains, sump pumps, X10 locks, backflow preventors, roll up doors, carpentry work, water heater, roof drains, ADA push buttons, and Boon Edam revolving doors. This facility consists of 7 buildings and this location is mission critical.
FACILITY INVESTMENT SERVICES & FACILITY SUPPORT SERVICES
Location: Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Honolulu, HI
Client: NAVFAC MID ATLANTIC – Marine Corps Reserve Training Command at MCBH
Scope: DAWSON provides various facility and grounds maintenance and repair for the Marine Corps Reserve Training Command at MCBH. The services included consist of custodial work for the facility, integrated Solid Waste Management in removing perimeter waste containers and debris removal, Grounds Maintenance to include vegetation control, area beautification, plant bed maintenance, as well as pavement clearance/sweeping and pest control. DAWSON also provides other Non-Firm Fixed Price IDIQ scopes of work in maintenance, repair, alteration, demolition and minor construction for building structures and grounds.
FORD ISLAND BRIDGE MAINTENANCE
Location: Admiral Clarey Bridge Facility at Ford Island, Honolulu, HI
Client: Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Hawaii
Scope: DAWSON is responsible for the sustainment, maintenance, and restoration of the Ford Island Bridge to ensure the bridge, and its facilities and system components are kept in good working order. The preventative maintenance tasks include routine bridge operation, rapid response to trouble call and repairs, and routine maintenance and repair of the hinged transition spans, movable pontoon, hydraulic systems and lift cylinders, microwave communications, integrated bridge control system, pontoon leak detection, CCTV, roadway traffic signals and controls, electrical and lighting systems, catwalks, ladders, and landings. The successful maintenance and operation of the Ford Island Bridge is imperative to ensuring the safe and reliable travel for the thousands of commuters who access the island each day.
