With a focus on Secured facilities and infrastructure, DAWSON brings demonstrated experience to understanding the constraints and challenges that Secured facility owners face in maintaining assets or constructing new facilities to support their evolving missions.
We fully understand the processes and procedures for completing work in a Secured environment and have worked on multiple contracts and projects operating in cleared facilities with varying degrees of security.
Repair of 6th floor soffit at bldg 700
Location: USINDOPACOM HQ, Camp Smith, Honolulu, HI
Client: Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Hawaii
Scope: DAWSON provided emergency roof repairs at USINDOPACOM Headquarters after wind and water damage caused by hurricane-related storms. Work included emergency response and assessment, roof repair, structural assessment, scaffolding design, crane operations, fall protection safety, framing, flashing, and waterproofing; design and correction of roofing underlay design to mitigate future degradation.
Waiawa Transmission Main Emergency Repair
Location: Waiawa, Honolulu, HI
Client: Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Hawaii
Scope: DAWSON provided emergency response and repair of a 42-inch water main that provides 70% of the fresh water supplied to Pearl Harbor and Navy Properties. Work included excavation and dewatering, installing shoring, engineering and installing repair coupling, installing new piping and coupling, and backfill and compaction. Repair work was completed within a time-critical 7-day window. Crews worked safely and expeditiously around the clock in order to repair this critical infrastructure for our client.
Eglin SABER Contract
Location: Eglin Air Force Base, FL
Client: 96th Civil Engineer Group
Scope: DAWSON provided a broad range of construction in support of base engineering requirements to include maintenance, repair, and minor and new construction work at Eglin AFB and its associated sites in Florida. Individual project scopes vary from small renovations to large-scale infrastructure needs and life safety issues.
MPC Secured facility renovation at b1025
Location: Beale Air Force Base, CA
Client: 99th Reconnaissance Squadron
Scope: DAWSON designed and renovated the existing Mission Planning Cell (MPC) Operations Center to meet current Secured facility requirements to include the replacement of walls, ceilings, doors, electrical, and mechanical components to meet ICD 705 standards. Scope also included a new, second story, steel mezzanine structure and HVAC upgrades to accommodate the additional workspace.
EGLIN LRSO
Location: Eglin Air Force Base, FL
Client: Air Force Test Center, Operational Contracting Division, Base Operating Support Branch
Scope: DAWSON designed and constructed five pre-engineered, temporary modular buildings in support of Eglin AFB. Each temporary modular building will have their own unique set of requirements to include a Secured facility, general office, administrative spaces, and a conference center.
AFWET SITE PREP FOR MET
Location: Thule Air Base, Greenland
Client: Air Force Wideband Enterprise Terminal
Scope: DAWSON designed and constructed a new SATCOM facility for the Modernization of Enterprise Terminals (MET) program. This new construction project was built from the ground up to include geotechnical survey, site prep, foundation, and structural components for a new 68-foot radome along with a new utilidor to connect the facility to existing infrastructure. Due to the environmental conditions, the project was completed in two separate phases with the radome installation and leak test completed in 45 days during the summer season.

KEY PROJECT EXPERIENCE
O&M Support for the U.S. EPA Cincinnati facilities
Location: Cincinnati, OH
Client: Andrew W. Breidenbach Environmental Research Center (AWBERC)
Scope: DAWSON provides all management, labor, supervision, administration, technical support, equipment, transportation, materials and repair parts to plan, schedule, coordinate, and perform facilities management of the thirteen EPA facilities – totaling 642,640 square feet – in the Cincinnati area. AWBERC houses research laboratories, training facilities, and administrative offices and is AAALAC accredited. It is one of the U.S. EPA’s largest research and development facilities for water research and hazardous waste management.
HVAC AND DDC SYSTEMS MAINTENANCE AND REPAIRS
Location: Kaneohe, HI
Client: Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam, Camp Smith, and MCB
Scope: DAWSON provides Preventative Maintenance/Corrective Maintenance (PM/CM) for 144 air conditioning systems. This consists of chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, split A/C units, Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems, and water treatment and testing throughout 32 buildings at Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam; including the headquarter buildings of the Pacific Air Forces (PACAF), U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM), INDO-PACOM, and the Pacific Fleet (COMPACFLT). DAWSON also services the units contained in Secure facilities requiring various clearance levels.
Grounds Maintenance and Snow Removal
Location: Colorado Springs, CO
Client: U.S. Air Force Academy
Scope: DAWSON self-performs all grounds maintenance and all snow removal operations at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. Project scope includes landscaping/xeriscaping, snow and ice removal, maintenance of trails, replacement of trees, shrubs, and hedges, erosion control, litter removal, screening, turf maintenance, synthetic turf maintenance, cemetery grounds, funeral and gravesite support, airfield maintenance, and football stadium maintenance, irrigation, NCAA athletic field maintenance/preparation, mowing of semi-improved and unimproved grounds, and herbicide treatment.

KEY PROJECT EXPERIENCE
Emergency Fuel System Repairs
Location: Offutt AFB, NE
Client: USACE Omaha District
Scope: At Offutt AFB in Omaha NE, DAWSON completed emergency repairs of the Type III hydrant system damaged by flood waters. DAWSON installed new pumps and motors, a pump control panel, motor control center, and rebuilt 38 control valves along with PRT coating repairs.
API 653 Tank Inspections & Repairs
Location: Scott AFB, IL; Meridian, MS; NAB Little Creek, VA; PMRF Barking Sands, HI; Dyess AFB, TX; NSB New London, CT; NAF El Centro, CA; and MCAB Kaneohe Bay, HI
Client: U.S. Air Force and Navy
Scope: At DoD installations through the DLA Energy SRM program, DAWSON performed multiple concurrent fuel storage API 653 tank inspection/repair projects from installing a new floor to complete coating replacement at multiple locations without disruption to mission operations.
Install Secondary Offload System
Location: Dover AFB, DE
Client: USACE Omaha District
Scope: DAWSON installed a secondary offload system with auxiliary offload skid and electrical controls linked to the existing bulk storage tanks. DAWSON also installed a new 7,000 gallon catch basin with appropriate environmental and safety elements.
