DETAILS
DAWSON has been a proud sponsor of several exhibitions at the Bishop Museum, including Honolulu Biennial 2019, featuring the installations of two Native Hawaiian artists: Cory Kamehanaokalā Holt Taum and Solomon Enos.
Inspired by the theme “To Make Wrong / Right / Now,” from participating kānaka maoli (Native Hawaiian) artist Imaikalani Kalahele’s poem, Manifesto, Honolulu Biennial 2019 featured 19 artists/artist groups from Hawai‘i and 29 from the Pacific, Asia, and the Americas. The artists showcased contemporary works that contributed to local and global dialogues by connecting indigenous perspectives, knowledge, and creative expression.
